John East

John East served as CEO of Actel Corporation for 22 years until his retirement in 2010, when the company was acquired by Microsemi Corporation. Previously, he was senior vice president of AMD, where he oversaw the Logic Products Group. Mr. East has held various engineering, marketing and management positions at Raytheon Semiconductor and Fairchild Semiconductor, and was a board member at Adaptec, Zehntel, MCC and Single Chip Systems. He is currently on the board of directors at Alacritech, a private company involved in the data storage market, Atrenta, a supplier of design tools to the IC designer community and Pericom, a supplier of serial connectivity enabling integrated circuits. Mr. East holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.B.A. from UC Berkeley.

Carl Burrow is Senior Vice President of Sales for CalAmp and serves on the Board of Directors at Tortuga Logic. Mr. Burrow has over 20 years of executive-level experience running sales and marketing for hardware and software technology companies, ranging from startups to $200 million in revenue. Previously, Mr. Burrow was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Medium One and pSemi Corporation (acquired by Murata), Corporate Vice President of Field Operations at Magma Design Automation (acquired by Synopsys), Vice President of Sales at Aplus Design Technology (acquired by Magma Design Automation) and Vice President of Marketing at Actel Corporation (acquired by Microsemi). Mr. Burrow received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Missouri-Rolla and an M.B.A. from Amberton University.

Justin Butler

Justin Butler is a partner at Eclipse Ventures and serves on the Board of Directors at Tortuga Logic. Prior to joining the investment team at Eclipse, Justin built and led the commercial operations at Misfit, a digital health company acquired by the Fossil Group for more than $250 million. Before Misfit, Justin managed the commercialization efforts in the food, fuels and chemical spaces at Synthetic Genomics (SGI), a leading synthetic biology company. At SGI, Justin’s efforts led to first-in-class technology development, licensing and commercialization deals with ADM and other Fortune 100 food and chemical companies. Justin received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and his M.B.A. from MIT Sloan. Justin is an avid cyclist and triathlete, and serves on the advisory board of CycleKids, a nonprofit focused on strengthening the physical and emotional health of children.

Dr. Jason Oberg is Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Tortuga Logic, where he is responsible for overseeing the company’s technology and strategic positioning. Dr. Oberg works closely with the Tortuga Logic team to facilitate capital, partnerships and revenue on all products and services. As a leading expert in hardware security, Dr. Oberg brings years of intellectual property and unique technologies to the company. His work has been cited over 700 times and he holds six issued and pending patents. He received his B.S. in Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from UC San Diego.
